Yes, you read right - no training is required to make connections.
It's logical isn't it? You don't need a certificate to invite someone to tea, or hold an Xbox party, or help your neighbour water her plants. You don't need a certificate to make a connection. The only qualification you need to make Jesus known, is to know Jesus yourself. You already have that qualification.
Our Lord Himself said to His disciples,
Shortly after this, Jesus sent out the twelve apostles to preach the Good News and to perform miracles.
The disciples were not to rely on their worldly goods, but to trust in God alone for provisions, for their safety, and for the inspiration of the Spirit.
